The Renaissance

Leprosy overview

1.) Introduction- What is a pandemic? What is an epidemic? An epidemic is a deasise that affects many people and a pandemic affects people across many countries. 2.) Introduce your disease. What is the disease? Provide a description/definition. Leprosy is a bacterial infection from the micro bacterium separate. It affects the skin, nerves, and respiratory system. 3.) Where and when did the disease originate? Leprosy started in 1873 in Norway. 4.) What are the symptoms of the disease? How does it spread? Changing skin and sensitive skin are signs. You can also have numbness in the hands and feet. Muscles weakness and eyesight problems can also be. sign. It is not highly contagious, but its spread by nasal secretions. 5.) What population sets were hardest hit by the disease? Leprosy is a big problem in Africa and Asia. 6.) What is the mortality rate of the disease? The mortality rate of the disease is 9%.

1346- The Plague emerges in magnolia,  passed to humans by a tarabagan, a type of marmot. May 1347- The plague takes full effect with hundreds of corpses covering the streets. October 1347- The plague kills half of the Sicily population. After this, it moves to Messina.  November 1347- The plague arrives in France, quickly killing many citizens. January 1348- A different strain of the plague enters Genova. They are battling a second strand while fighting the first one. April 1348- Massacres started happening, 40 Jews in Provence were murdered. June 1348- The plague enters Europe, spreading around even more. Great Schism-  is the break of communion since the 11th century between the Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox Churches. William the Conqueror- A very famous English King. Henry II- A very successful English King. Common-Law-  the part of English law that is derived from custom and judicial precedent rather than statutes. Often contrasted with  statutory law .
